Documents life growing up in Venice, CA and the powerful insights that come from street smarts. An installation of 13 paintings, audio that accompanies the “West of Lincoln” painting, a slide show, social media engagement, the Venice Tribute Wall and 12 featured biographies. Ruth was warded a grant for an Individual Artist through the Carl Jacobs Foundation.
July 2017 – June 2018
Shares inspiring stories of how people find a sense of belonging through the land. Ruth Chase is an artist-in-residence with Nevada County Arts through a grant called Artists Activating Communities, awarded in part by the California Arts Council. The installation will be composed of a short film, the use of social media, interviews, community art made in free workshops and paintings by Ruth.
