Please join Venice Arts Gallery for an artist talk by Ruth Chase along with the closing reception for the West of Lincoln Project. This will be the last day to view the project.

10:30 – 11:00 Ruth will talk about the West of Lincoln Project and how she is using art for positive social change. Following, Ruth will be available for any questions about the project.

In addition to the paintings, video, and audio, the exhibition will feature the VENICE TRIBUTE WALL, where the public is invited to contribute their own stories and memories of Venice.

Ruth Chase is primarily a project based artist whose work involves sharing stories of adversity transformed into valuable life wisdom. She is a California-based painter that uses biographical portraiture to communicate stories of compassion, and valuable insight that promotes positive social change. Her work includes the use of social media in her creative process to stimulate conversation around human value, as well as engaging the public to actively participate in the final outcome of her work. Ruth was born and raised in Venice and lives in Northern California. She was recently awarded a second project called BELONGING, through a California Arts Council initiative – Artist Activating Communities, as an Artist in Residence at Nevada County Arts Council.
